General information

The ZEPPELIN POST JOURNAL is printed in full color and in A5 format with a minimum of 32 pages (sometimes with more pages like the Summer2008 issue which came out with 48 pages). The annual four issues of the ZEPPELIN POST JOURNAL are named Spring-, Summer-, Fall- and Winter issues and each issue is printed in German language as well as in English language.

Editor of the ZEPPELIN POST JOURNAL is Dieter Leder from Meersburg, Germany .

The journal is focussing on zeppelin mail, zeppelin stamps and anything related to mail and stamps with a connection to airships. In addition, the ZEPPELIN POST JOURNAL also provides background information on the organisation of zeppelin mail transportation and especially on the handling of such mail by postal services. For a better understanding, the reports provide first hand information from archives, news reports and eye witness reports from involved crew members and passengers from board the airships. The ZEPPELIN POST JOURNAL covers the entire time period of airship flights, which is from the pioneer period starting in late 1800 up to yesterdays Zeppelin NT or Blimp mail transortation.

While aerophilately and postal history covers the classic philatelic issues of a philatelic item or the related postal transportation, zeppelin mail is more and more seen in a wider framework - their historical relevance and the connection to a developing process is becomming a frequent subject of articles published in the ZEPPELIN POST JOURNAL.

As zeppelin mail is usually connected to the corresponding aviation- and aerophilatelic literature as well as to memorabilia and ephemera from that area, the ZEPPELIN POST JOURNAL is also covering these features.

The philosophy of the ZEPPELIN POST JOURNAL is to provide a platform to share information: This can be anything from a question, an isolated single observation or a multi-pages study.
